Goals
General Objective (in progress)
The general objective of this project is to define technical and operational methodology and develop a web platform that provides information services derived from satellite and artificial intelligence (e.g. coastline, topography, bathymetry, coastal compression, hydrodynamics) to create collections applied to mitigation and adaptation of the coastal zone to climate change.
Specific Objectives
To achieve this general objective, the following specific objectives are proposed:
- Establish methodologies and tools for determining the physical boundary conditions of estuarine regions and adjacent areas, with optical complexity from freely available satellite images;
- Validate the algorithms based on primary data (obtained in the project) and secondary data (bases and historical charts available at IBGE, DHN, among others);
- Promote scientific dissemination through publications in journals with an excellent impact index, prioritizing “open access” journals;
- Carry out the digital publication of a manual presenting the state of the art of the knowledge reviewed and acquired in this project (CASSIE: from theory to application);
- Run courses on the system developed to train human resources capable of dealing with the integration of environmental studies applied in decision-making on adaptation measures to climate change, perform topographic and bathymetric inversions from satellite images;
- Encourage the widespread dissemination of scientific knowledge through the application of educational communication principles across various media platforms.
